The Opportunity

We're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team and contribute directly to creating the best insurance experience for Kiwis. This role is crucial for improving our web application (React) and backend agents, tackling complex UI implementations, and optimising performance across various devices. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where delivery speed and rapid testing of new ideas are paramount.

What We're Looking For (Must-Have Skills)

  • Frontend Development:

    • React.js Expertise: Proven ability to implement pixel-perfect UI components from Figma designs with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Design Translation: Strong experience interpreting design requirements and maintaining clear communication with UI/UX designers.
    • Performance Optimisation: Demonstrated experience optimising large, complex React applications for speed and efficiency.
  • Backend Development:

    • Node.js Proficiency: Solid experience building robust APIs and handling complex business logic, rules, and calculations.
    • Database Management: Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure:

    • Cloud Platform Expertise: Deep, confident knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
    • HTTP Mastery: Comprehensive understanding of HTTP protocols and ability to integrate with any web service or API endpoint.
  • SEO & Web Standards:

    • SEO Expertise: Solid understanding of modern SEO principles and proven experience implementing SEO best practices.
  • Modern Development Practices:
