Job Description

As a Microsoft partner, Intellium is a Managed Service Provider experiencing significant growth, and we’re on the lookout for a Tech Lead/ Solutions Architect to join full time at our Auckland Office in the CBD (Symonds St).

Reports To: Intellium’s Technical Director.

Position Purpose: To provide high-level technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, security, and Microsoft 365 environments, while mentoring the technical team and supporting the long-term succession plan of the business. This role is hands-on and strategic, bridging technical execution with team development and client delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

      •     Lead the design and implementation of cloud-first solutions, particularly within the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystems.

      •     Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team.

      •     Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues.

      •     Drive improvements in security posture, licensing compliance, and cloud architecture.

      •     Collaborate with the Technical Director on strategic planning and succession initiatives.

      •     Engage with key clients to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

      •     Contribute to the development of internal standards, documentation, and best practices.

Key Relationships:

      •     Internal: Technical Director, Engineering Team, Service Desk

      •     External: Key Clients, Vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Chorus), Partners

Person Specification:

Essential Skills & Experience:

      •     Proven experience in a senior technical role within an MSP or similar environment.

      •     Deep expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud security.

      •     Strong understanding of licensing, compliance, and cloud infrastructure.

      •     Hands-on technical capability—this is a doer role, not just design/architecture.

      •     Experience mentoring or managing technical staff.

      •     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

      •     Exposure to ISP services and digital wireless technologies.

      •     Experience working with clients in healthcare, real estate, or retail.

      •     Familiarity with legacy on-prem environments (though not a focus).

Remuneration & Benefits:

      •     Salary: NZD $160,000 – $190,000 (depending on experience)
