✨ The role

We're looking for a curious, thoughtful and impact-driven Founding Product Designer to join our founding team. You’ll be one of our first design hires, helping shape our product and experience foundations from the ground up.

You’ll design cross-platform product experiences, explore new interaction models powered by GenAI, and co-create with the learners, teachers, and families we’re here to serve.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role – ideal for someone who’s excited by early-stage momentum and who wants to grow with us as we scale

💡 What you’ll be doing

• Designing intuitive, elegant experiences across our core product (web and mobile).

• Exploring new frontiers of multi-modal design for interaction with AI – blending conversation, reflection, guidance, and growth.

• Translating learner and educator insights into thoughtful, empowering user journeys.

• Helping shape our design system, visual identity, and experience patterns.

• Getting close to our users – running research, interviews, and rapid prototyping.

• Collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Founders to shape product strategy.

• Championing inclusive, ethical, and learner-first design at every step.

• Laying the groundwork for a future design team and design culture at Liven Labs.

🧠 What we’re looking for

• 4–7+ years of product design experience (bonus points if you’ve worked in early-stage and/or fast-growing environments).

• A portfolio that shows product thinking, strong UX/UI craft, and thoughtful outcomes.

• A hunger to work with emerging tech and AI – especially in ways that support human connection.

• Comfort designing across devices and mediums, and openness to non-traditional UX patterns.

• Empathy-led instincts and the ability to design for complex, emotionally rich moments.

• Collaborative, proactive, and excited to wear multiple hats.

• Ambition to take on more responsibility and leadership as we grow.

🌱 Bonus experience

• EdTech, learning design, or behaviour change products.

• Designing for youth / young adult, wellbeing, or high-trust environments.

• Service design, systems thinking, or content strategy chops.
